SOUTH NOTTS (National Council for the Divorced and Separated) CLUB.

Our President, Denise Robertson.
(Writer & T.V Broadcaster)

"I am very proud of the way in which NCDS supports those struggling to cope with the aftermath of separation, divorce or bereavement. Help from those who have themselves experienced these things is the best help of all. Every member of this organisation knows what you are going through because they have been there themselves and know what it's like to have to begin again. With our help you can make a new happier life."

If you are Divorced, Separated or Widowed and looking for a new social life and friendship, in a safe and friendly atmosphere, and fed up with singles bars and dating agencies; then WELCOME!

We care about people and help those who are either:
Separated, Divorced or Widowed:

We are a voluntary group of people who know what it is like when you have lost a partner for whatever reason, a lot of friendship and happiness has been found through our social branch, where people dance, chat and forget their troubles for a couple of hours.

What can we do to help you?

Go on! You have nothing to loose, but everything to gain. We have over 70 Branches throughout the UK. If you do go to one of our Branches tell them where you heard about them, then e-mail us and tell us what you think. If there is not a local Branch in your area still contact us to find out more.

Our Branches are filled not with strangers, but friends you have yet to meet. Remember if you want to join us you will need to show us some proof of status, and two forms of identification, this is for your protection.

The National Council for the Divorced and Separated was formed in March 1974 to continue and extend the work carried out during the previous eight years by the National Federation of clubs for the Divorced & Separated. We have Branches throughout the U.K. and one of our aims is to try and develop a Branch in every major Town. Our Social clubs are there to help you reach out for a new beginning, and form new friendships.

SOUTH NOTTS BRANCH

30+ YEARS OF SOUTH NOTTS DIVORCED and SEPARATED CLUB.

The club was formed 31 years ago in 1973 at the Test Match Inn at West Bridgford hence the name South Notts. Over the years it has moved from venue to venue due to the rise in membership, until they arrived at The Federation House, Claremont Road, Sherwood Rise, Nottingham, where we meet every Thursday evening and where we have stayed for more than 20 years. One of the founder members is Denis Breedon, who is now the President of South Notts. The club is a social club, where its main aim is to give confidence back to people who are divorced, separated and widowed, who have been on their own for a period of time with no one to help them.

Amongst the activities the club participates in are dancing and socialising on club nights with general chit chat with members, raffles and announcements. There are normally 3-4 dances a month with other clubs on Saturday nights in the Midland Region of which we are a part. We have outings, weekends and holidays away. Also we have barbecues, Christmas, children's parties and theme nights all throughout the year.
